Wood Pergola & Privacy Wall in West Houston

This outdoor project framed a dark-stained wood pergola with an integrated privacy-slat wall over an existing concrete patio. The scope covered heavy timber posts and beams, slat privacy screening, and clean alignment so the structure feels anchored to the house rather than freestanding in the yard.

Exterior framing starts with layout: post locations, beam heights, and how the privacy wall ties into the pergola without twisting the posts. We square the footprint on the concrete, set posts plumb, and build the beam and rafter package so spans stay consistent. The privacy wall uses vertical slats spaced for screening while still allowing airflow—important on West Houston patios where shade and neighbor sightlines both matter.

Materials were outdoor-ready wood with a dark stain that highlights the grain.
